Populism: The New Red Scare
Populism does indeed have a set of prevailing principles that characterizes it. These principles cut across all political cloths, often garnering support from left- and right-wing proponents. Some of the basic principles include: circumventing power from Wall Street, ending corporate welfare and crony capitalism, ending mass surveillance programs, ending military interventionism and occupation, and opposing corporate trade agreements.
These principles don’t describe just one political identity, and that is why they tend to attract a broad following of people from all political persuasions.
New Women’s Scholarship Created to Honor the Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg is Open to Males Who Self-Identify as Female
A new scholarship for “women law students” established in 2020 to honor the memory of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, is open to anyone who “self-identifies” as a woman. The stated mission of the scholarship, which offers next year’s recipients the significant amount of $10,000 per year, is “to advance equity and diversity within the legal profession by expanding career opportunities for women attorneys and supporting those attorneys in their legal educations and careers.”
